Throughout the year, The Friends undertakes a variety of special fundraising projects on behalf of the Library. The Friends is currently working to raise funds to support the following library initiatives:

• Homework Centers to assist children in Saint Paul with their school work. Currently, five Centers are open throughout the Saint Paul Public Library system.
• The Summer Reading Program, encouraging children and teens to improve their reading skills througout the summer months through engaging events and reading incentives.
• Opening day celebrations, collections and other enhancements for the new Rondo Community Outreach Library, scheduled to open in fall, 2006, on the corner of Dale and University.
• And, as always, the purchase of new books and other materials to bolster the Library's collection.
