Support the Library

Each year, The Friends provides vital support to the Saint Paul Public Library. Gifts and contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations - at all levels - are critical to providing additional resources for both on-going and special projects at the Saint Paul Public Library.
In recent years, through the generosity of donors and members, The Friends have supported a wide array of projects and activities at the Library, including:
- the purchase of many thousands of new books and materials
- Mobile WORKplace: computer access, skill training, and job search assistance outside of library locations.
- a new system-wide computer network and hundreds of new computers
- hundreds of cultural and literary programs
- a summer reading program serving more than 12,000 children, teens, and their parents, annually
- the development of homework centers in six branches
- Homework Rescue, free online tutoring services through HelpNow, powered by Brainfuse.
- expanded small business resource centers
- outreach efforts to various Saint Paul communities
- staff training and enrichment
- renovations of Central Library and a number of branch libraries
- volunteer recognition events
The Friends works to ensure adequate public funding of the Library, but private support is increasingly important in improving the services and resources of the Saint Paul Public Library. Ranging from membership and individual contributions to memorials and planned gifts, The Friends offers a variety of opportunities for everyone to support the Saint Paul Public Library. Please consider a gift or contribution today.

The Great Minnesota Give
Together: Wednesday, November 16
Minnesota nonprofits and donors connect through easy-to-use web site, GiveMN.org - a one-stop online giving platform
Give to the Max Day is a day for Minnesotans to come together to raise as much money as possible for nonprofits in 24 hours – starting at midnight on November 16 through midnight on November 17. By engaging as many donors as possible to give to their favorite Minnesota charities in one day, GiveMN.org showcases Minnesota’s unparalleled generosity to the world! Together, we have the power to raise millions of dollars for thousands of nonprofits! On November 16, every donation you make will give The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and The Minnesota Book Awards the chance to win even more money. Especially for these 24 hours during Give to the Max Day, your gift makes a BIG difference.
Get a “Golden Ticket”
One donor will be randomly chosen every hour to have $1,000 added to their donation. In addition to the 24 “Golden Tickets,” one $10,000 “Grand Golden Ticket” will be randomly given at 11:59 p.m. on November 16, 2011. The minimum gift on Give to the Max Day is $10, so please consider giving early and often to improve your chances of winning the Golden Ticket and turning your $10 into $1,010!
GiveMN is "Mobilicious"
Giving
just got easier with the new mobile version of GiveMN.org. Whether you’re using
GiveMN.org on a computer, tablet or phone, online giving has never looked this
good. And, you don’t have to download or install an app on your mobile device
to use it. It’s mobilicious! If you're reading this on a mobile device,
try it out right now by visiting GiveMN.org. Here's
how it works:
Pledge
When
viewing GiveMN.org on an Internet-enabled mobile device, you can choose to
“pledge” or “donate.” Perhaps you want to donate, but don’t have your credit
card information or you just want to check with your spouse or partner first?
“Pledging” allows you to take action without having to log into your account or
enter your credit card information. All you need is an email address. A
reminder email is sent to you to complete the donation later.
Donate
Making
a mobile donation is quick and clean on GiveMN.org. You don’t even need an
account. Simply enter your name, address and credit card information, then
click “donate.”
There are, however, two great reasons to log into your account while using the mobile site:
- Your donation is recorded so that you can track your charitable giving
- You don’t have to have to re-enter your credit card information (this will work great for giving small gifts hourly throughout the day)
Better
than Text Giving
Unlike
text-to-give donations, mobile giving on GiveMN doesn’t limit you to one
nonprofit and it doesn’t carry a heavy fee from your mobile service provider.
GiveMN’s credit card processing fee is just 2.9%, one of the lowest of any of
the online giving platforms. And, your donation is still 100% tax-deductible.
With GiveMN.org, you now have the power to give to ANY nonprofit in Minnesota on your mobile device in just 3 simple steps! Wherever you are, remember www.GiveMN.org (or scan the QR code above and save the link as a shortcut on your mobile device.)
