Accelerate Summer Reading!

The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library is proud to celebrate 52 years of summer reading.

Children with selected books at Dayton's Bluff Branch Library

Since 1960, The Friends—along with other sponsors—have had the privilege of funding summer reading programs (SRP). These programs are shown to be an antidote for learning loss. Instead of losing knowledge and skills during the summer months, kids who participate in library reading programs actually show gains. They accelerate learning while having active fun over the summer!

Again this year, the youth and teens who take part in SRP will receive free books for reaching their reading goals. What could be better than book incentives for reading books? We’re rewarding reading with more ways to read - a wonderful cycle that promotes and rewards the love of reading. And the youth and teens who achieve their goals and receive their free books are so appreciative. For some, it is the first book they've ever owned!

We invite you to join your children in attending the wide variety of programs at your local library this summer while having the satisfaction of knowing you have done your part to help other children participate, as well.

Donate to The Friends’ XLR8 Summer Reading campaign and know that the dollars you send will support the Summer Reading Program. It takes all of us to put together the summer of fun and reading, and we need your help.
